Here are just a few of the projects I've worked on over the years.
CLASS Project
 |
Description:
The CLASS project was a $17 million dollar venture that created an entire high-school curriculum of 40+ on-line courses. The project started in 1996 so most of today's web technologies were in their infancy, making the project an exciting challenge. We had to tackle the problems of content management, rights management, limited bandwidth and poor support for media to name a few.
Each course was a major production with some budgets running into six figures. I produced five of these courses and also acted as a technology lead creating standard technical procedures for all the courses.

Wessels Living History Farm
 |
Description:
David Wessels wanted to create a place where adults and children could learn what life on a Nebraska farm was like during his lifetime. When he died, he donated his land and money to creating this place. Livinghistoryfarm.org is part of his dream come true. As a Interactive Producer at Nebraska Educational Telecommunications I led the creative team that created this site that decscribes life on the prairie in the early part of the 20th century through pictures, animations, and interviews. The site contains hours of first-hand interviews with people who lived on the farm during this time.

Project ALERT
 |
Description:
Project ALERT is a web-based training initiative created by the Nebraska National Guard and Nebraska Educational Telecommunications (NET). This multi-million dollar project created more than 50 on-line courses in subjects ranging from sexual harrassment training to sniper marksmanship training. As a Interactive Producer for NET I led the production of more than 10 of these courses that utilized audio, video, and interactive elements to teach our soldiers. In addition, I served as the technical lead on the project finding ways to streamline course production for all of the courses. I created automated course packing software using Dreamweaver's extension technology.

4-H Cyberfair
 |
Description:
What do you do when you need a look and feel for a web site, you have limited graphic and HTML skills, and precious little time? You get me to throw a Dreamweaver template together for you in a few hours. The 4-H Cyberfair site was part of a Nebraska State Fair event and they needed a web site and quick. After a few icons and some CSS twiddling, the crisis was averted.

WebBot
 |
Description:
WebBot was a project for Nebraska 4-H to promote interest in their educational robotics program. It used Lego Mindstorms bricks to create a robot that could be remotely programmed to navigate through a maze over the Internet. Users could watch the robot do their bidding over a pair of webcams. I wrote the server software and the robot-control software in Java and I created the drag-and-drop web interface in Flash. See my Demos page for a simulation of WebBot. You can also read my Masters Degree thesis for a very detailed description of the project.

Hartland Homes
 |
Description:
Hartland Homes of Lincoln, Nebraska had the honor of being chosen as the contractor for an Extreme Makeover: Home Edition house being built there. The company wanted to capitalize on this marketing opportunity so I re-designed their web site and created content specific to the Extreme Makeover event. I also created new search and contact features for the site using PHP and MySQL.
